I've got an interview for a job tomorrow - as a project manager on a research project at the University of Exeter. I'm so excited! I applied weeks ago and thought that I hadn't got through, but then last week I got confirmation that I'm short listed. The odds are still stacked against me because I have no experience of managing this type of project, although I have several years experience of IT projects - but I'm just delighted to get an interview - it's so boosted my confidence. I need to be careful though, as I'm starting to feel a bit more discomfort with my RA - my thumbs joints are really sore and a bit swollen, and I can't straighten my elbows - I've got an appointment with the nurses beginning of April, so if I'm still feeling the same I'll ask for a steroid jab and maybe get my meds tweaked a bit. Definitely not going to let RA stand in the way!! Sylvia xx Be kinder than is necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Good luck for tomorrow!!!! You always come across on here as a warm, friendly caring person and I'm sure you will radiate all of this tomorrow. They've seen your CV, to they obviously think you are capable of doing the job or you would not of been asked for an interview. When my eldest daughter went for her last job, they told her afterwards that they made their minds up in the first few minutes of talking to her that she was what they wanted. (She gets all of her good points and charisma from her mum ).......So, just be yourself, put your lovely smile on your face and bowl them over. Paula xx

Good luck Sylvia. The way things are in the world at the moment you have done brilliently just to get an interview. I know, because my daughter has been applying for jobs weekly for the last 6 months and has just had her first reply. So fingers crossed all round. Sue

GOOD LUCK sylvia. I agree that you've done amazingly well to get this interview. Go in and sell yourself and shine. All interviews are good experience even if you don't get the job or you decide it's not right for you. I'll be thinking of you and can't wait to hear how it goes. I'm interested to know whather you will divulge the RA and at what point (if you don't mind sharing). I really admire your determination. I could do with a bit more of that, and some confidence too. xxx

Hi All - I'm overwhelmed at all your lovely replies - thank you thank you!!! Just to keep you updated, the nasty people went and cancelled - well postponed - the interview. Left me feeling really high and dry. I gather somebody on the interview panel was ill, so I suppose it makes sense, but I feel so disappointed, and I've got to keep my patience and wait another 2 WEEKS!!!! Grrrr! At least they did email me at the weekend so I should be grateful that they were at least considerate. Best wishes - Sylvia Be kinder than is necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Oh Sylvia I feel so disappointed for you.
All that anticipation leading up to it and then it's cancelled.
Hopefully now that you've had the rehearsal, it won't be so daunting the next time.
At least it will give you more time to prepare and your RA might be behaving itself in two weeks time.
Paula
